Precise HELIXX™ Shaftless Auger Spreaders: Best for dry, free-flowing bulk salt. They use a screw-like mechanism to pull material to the chute, providing a very even and predictable flow. They generally have fewer moving parts, making them lower maintenance and cleaner—leaving less residual mess in your truck bed.
Chain (Conveyor) Spreaders: Best for heavier, wet materials like sand, gravel, or a heavy salt/sand mix. They use a pintle chain like a conveyor belt to move material. While they handle high-volume and low-quality materials better without jamming, they have more moving parts (bearings, sprockets, etc.) that require regular greasing and adjustment.
